OLYMPIA – Candidate filing week will be December 11 - 15 for residents of three Thurston County Drainage Districts and the Black Lake Special District. Candidates must own property in the district and be a registered voter in Washington State. 

Commissioner positions subject to election are: 

  • Chambers Lake Drainage District – Pos. No. 2 & 3 
  • Hopkins Drainage District – Pos. No. 2 
  • Scott Lake Drainage District – Pos. No. 1 & 3 
  • Black Lake Special District – Pos. No. 3 


There is no filing fee for these positions.  

Filing by mail is open now. Other filing methods begin December 11 - 15, 8 a.m. and close promptly at 4:30 p.m. December 15. Filing methods are: 

  • By email at elections@co.thurston.wa.us 
  • In-person at the Auditor’s Elections  Office at 2400 Evergreen Park Dr SW, Olympia, WA 98502 
  • By  Mail to Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Office, 2000 Lakeridge Dr SW, Olympia, WA 98502 

All candidate filings must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 15.
