Canvassing Board Certifies General Election and Schedules Recount in Rainier City Council, Position No. 2 Contest

OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Canvassing Board certified the November 7, 2023, General Election.
Final official election results can be found at ThurstonWAVotes.gov.
The Canvassing Board also scheduled a recount for the Rainier City Council Position No. 2 for candidates Damion Green and Ryan Roth. Roth won by one vote which is within the range requiring a mandatory hand recount to validate the results. A hand recount occurs if the vote difference is less than 150 and less than .25 of 1%.
The total vote difference between the candidates was 1 vote and the percentage difference was .2 of 1%

Recount Schedule
- Recount preparations will begin on Thursday, November 30, at 9:00 a.m.
- The recount will start on Friday, December 1, at 9:00 a.m.
- The Thurston County Canvassing Board will meet on Friday, December 1 at 4 p.m. to certify the results of the recount.
