Thurston County Board of Health to Swear-In New Tribal Representative

OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Board of Health has taken significant steps towards fostering collaboration and inclusivity by actively seeking recommendations from the Squaxin Island Tribe for the appointment of a tribal representative. Resolution No. 24-03, outlines the initiative to seek recommendations from the Squaxin Island Tribe for an appointment to the board.
The Thurston County Board of Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Ray Peters, as the tribal representative for the board, nominated by the Squaxin Island Tribal Council.
Mr. Peters is known for his dedication to community and tribal well-being, with 24 years of experience serving as a liaison for numerous boards and committees. Previously serving as Tribal Executive Director and holding the position of Intergovernmental affairs/Tribal council liaison for the past eight years, Mr. Peters brings valuable insight to the board.
The formal introduction of board member Ray Peters will take place during the regularly scheduled Board of Health meeting, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, beginning at 3:45 pm at the Atrium Board Room 110, located at 3000 Pacific Ave SE, Olympia WA, 98501.
