OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Board of Health (BoH) is accepting a second round of applications to fill three community member positions on the expanded BoH. Individuals who already submitted an application for a community member position do not need to reapply but must submit the supplemental questionnaire to be considered for the position.
The BoH is looking for three community members to represent the following three positions:
- One community member representing public health, health care facilities, and providers
- One community member representing consumers of public health
- One community member representing other community stakeholders
The supplemental questionnaire includes the qualifications required for each position.
Background
The BoCC adopted an ordinance to expand the BoH creating the three community member positions as directed by Engrossed Second Substitute House Bill (ESSHB) 1152. The Thurston County Ordinance can be found here.
The BoH is the supervisory body for public health in Thurston County as outlined in Chapter 70.05 RCW. Members of the board will not receive compensation or reimbursement of expenses for the performance of their duties.
How to Apply
Interested applicants may submit a one page letter of interest along with this application and supplemental questions to Jamie Caldwell, Clerk of the Board, Board of Health, at jamie.caldwell@co.thurston.wa.us by noon on August 19, 2022 for consideration. Applications will be reviewed by the BoH. The BoH expects to hold interviews with the applicants during the week of August 29, 2022.
