Thurston County Solid Waste Advisory Committee is Recruiting Three Representatives
This is an exciting time to be a member of Thurston County's Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC)! Input is needed on major capital improvement projects at the Waste and Recovery Center in Lacey and the Rainier and Rochester drop-box facilities.
Members of the committee also regularly provide their perspectives on solid waste issues to the Board of County Commissioners and assist in the development of solid waste programs and policies. Visit the SWAC website to learn more.
The SWAC is actively recruiting for three open positions, which include a citizen, a business representative, and a waste collection representative. Please apply if you have a background in business or waste collection or are interested in the management of garbage and recycling and how it affects local residents, businesses, and the natural environment.
To qualify as a citizen representative, you must live in unincorporated Thurston County in Commissioner District #2. Please review the map for district boundaries.
If you are a business or waste collection representative and operate in Thurston County, then we encourage you to apply for one of those two open positions.
Please submit an application by Sunday, June 6, 2021. If you have questions about the position or the application, contact Amanda Romero with Thurston County Public Works at Amanda.romero@co.thurston.wa.us.
