OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners will hold public hearings to accept public comment on an amendment to the 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program. Find more detailed information about the proposal at: https://www.thurstonplanning.org

What: Public Hearing on an Amendment to 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program 

Planning Commission Hearing: Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.

Board of County Commissioner Hearing: Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 3:30 PM

How to Comment: Those wishing to testify should appear in person or virtually and be heard.

You can also submit written or emailed comments if you cannot attend. Please submit your comments for consideration to the Planning Commission no later than 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023, and the Board of County Commissioners no later than 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Background: 

The proposed amendment is to the adopted 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The CIP is Appendix G of the Thurston County Comprehensive Plan. This amendment will add one project description and include updates to the financial planning tables in the CIP for one new capital facility - the installation of a roundabout at the interchange of State Road 507 at Vail Road SE. It is part of the county’s capital facilities element, required under the Growth Management Act. The CIP is a six-year financing plan for capital facilities (2023-2028).
