Upcoming Road Closure Due to Construction on Waddell Creek Road SW

OLYMPIA – Thurston County Public Works announces a temporary road closure on Waddell Creek Rd SW, from 90th Ln SW to 86th Ln SW, starting June 3, 2024, and continuing until June 30, 2024. The closure is necessary for culvert replacements essential to ensuring the long-term usability of the roadway.
During this period, the construction work will involve the removal and replacement of existing culverts. Access will be maintained for local traffic, emergency vehicles, and essential services.
Traffic Management and Detour Routes
For Southbound Travelers: (from 86th Ln SW to 90th Ln SW)
- From 86th Rd SW, go north on Waddell Creek Rd SW
- After .7 Mile, turn right onto Delphi Rd SW
- After 3.4 Miles, turn left onto 110th Ave SW
- After 1.0 Mile, turn right onto Littlerock Rd SW
- After 2.2 Miles, turn right onto 128th Ave SW
- After .8 Mile, turn right onto Waddell Creek Rd SW
- After 4.1 Miles, turn right at intersection of Sherman Valley Rd SW and Waddell Creek Rd SW
For Northbound Travelers: (90th Ln SW to 86th Ln SW)
- Go south on Waddell Creek Rd SW
- After 1.5 Miles, turn left onto Waddell Creek Rd SW
- After 4.1 Miles, turn left onto 128th Ave SW
- After 0.8 Mile, turn left onto Littlerock Rd SW
- After 2.2 Miles, turn left onto 110th Ave SW
- After 1.0 Mile, turn right onto Delphi Rd SW
- After 3.4 Miles, turn left onto Waddell Creek Rd SW
Reader boards and signage will be installed in advance along Waddell Creek Rd SW to notify the public of the closure and to detail the detour routes. Residents and commuters are advised to plan additional travel time or seek alternative routes during the construction period.
