Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Medic One Tax Levy Ballot Measure
OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 13, at 3 p.m. to receive public comment on adding a Thurston County Medic One property tax levy to the ballot for the August 3, 2021 election.

First SARS-CoV-2 Variant of Concern Detected in Thurston County
OLYMPIA – On Friday, March 19, 2021 Washington State Department of Health (DOH) notified Thurston County Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) of two cases of the B.1.351 variant of SARS-CoV-2 in Thurston County. A private laboratory in Washington State confirmed the B.1.351 variant Friday.

Thurston County Accepting Applications for Conservation Futures Funding
OLYMPIA – Landowners who want their land to remain undeveloped, but still want the financial benefits of selling their property, have more time to apply for Conservation Futures funding from the county. Conservation Futures is a land preservation program that allows landowners to sell their property, or future development rights, to a qualified conservation organization.

Thurston County to Host Drive Through COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics at South Puget Sound Community College
OLYMPIA – Thurston County Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) will host first dose COVID-19 vaccination clinics at South Puget Sound Community College March 18, 20 and 21. These drive through clinics are for eligible people with confirmed appointments.

County Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Amendments to the 2020-2021 Official Dockets
OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Board of Commissioners are considering two proposals for addition to the 2020-2021 Official Dockets of Comprehensive Plan and Development Code Amendments. The commissioners invite the public to submit written comments on whether or not the county should add these two proposals to the dockets.

Board Declares Racism a Crisis in Thurston County
OLYMPIA – Today, the Thurston County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a resolution declaring racism a crisis in Thurston County. In a subsequent meeting, the Board of Health then proclaimed racism is a public health crisis.
