Thurston County Public Works is notifying residents and commuters of a temporary road closure on Tilley Road S from Maytown Road SW to 140th Avenue SW. The road will be closed on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for asphalt repairs.

Thurston County Public Health and Social Services is reporting a toxic algae bloom at Lake Lawrence. Lab results taken on 8/14/2024 detected Microcystins toxin levels at 10 ug/L, which is ABOVE the state recreation guideline of 8ug/L. Anatoxins were not detected.

A subcommittee of the Thurston County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) held its fourth meeting today regarding the current project plan of renovating the Thurston County Courthouse Campus. The subcommittee discussed Chandler Court operational costs, financing for the project, and opportunities for current buildings. The subcommittee also held an executive session to discuss the purchase of a building; no action followed.
