The National Weather Service has issued a forecast for temperatures above 91 degrees in the Puget Sound for Monday, August 14, through Thursday, August 17, 2023. Therefore, Thurston County will declare a 3-day, 3-night Hazardous Weather Event.

On August 29, 2023, Elderberry Street SW between US 12 and 196th Avenue will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a mill and fill pavement preservation project.

UPDATE: Recreational Fires No Longer Allowed Thurston County Burn Ban – Countywide Outdoor Burn Ban
This is an update to the Fire Safety Burn Ban. The update is to allow the use of charcoal or charcoal briquettes if use involves a barbeque or other appliances specific for the purpose and occurs over a non-combustible surface like concrete or brick.
