Storm & Surface Water Advisory Board
The Storm & Surface Water Advisory Board works with the Board of County Commissioners to help inform decisions about utility rates, construction projects, stormwater policies, and communications with the public.
Effective June 30, 2024, per Resolution ____, the Board of County Commissions rescinded resolutions governing the Storm and Surface Water Advisory Board. The resolution also authorized renaming the Storm and Surface Water Advisory Board to the Water Resources Advisory Board to be governed by a revised set of rules and procedures.

About the Storm & Surface Water Advisory Board
SWWAB, established in 1990 by Thurston County Resolution 15450 until dissolved in June 2024,
- Provided public involvement and accountability within the rate boundary where the County collects fees and charges for the stormwater utility.
- Reviewed and provided recommendations to staff and the BoCC on the stormwater utility guiding plans and documents including: annual work program, budget, Capital Facilities Plan, rates, and policy proposals.

Communicated regularly with the public and other water-resource-concerned groups to bring a broad water resource perspective to the stormwater utility.
SSWAB Duties
