Pretrial Screening and Supervision
Pretrial Services provides a screening report to the Court, prosecution, and defense prior to the preliminary appearance for nearly all Superior Court cases and many District Court cases.
The Pretrial Services Screening Report includes information on adult criminal history as well as scores on the Public Safety Assessment, a nationally and locally validated pretrial risk assessment tool. The report provides information that may be considered by the judicial officer in determining conditions of release.
Individuals may be ordered to Pretrial Services Supervision as a condition of their release from jail during the pretrial period.
Pretrial Officers work with clients to discuss supervision obligations and scheduled check-ins. Clients on Pretrial Services Supervision can receive automated text message reminders for court dates and supervision appointments. Pretrial Services will also monitor other specific conditions of release ordered by the Court. The Supervision Unit of Pretrial Services provides both in-person and telephonic services.
