2023 Local Voter Pamphlet cover

On July 5, the Thurston County Auditor’s Office will mail Local Voters’ Pamphlets for the August 1, 2023, Primary Election. The Voters’ Pamphlet will be mailed to all households in Thurston County except for those in Fire District 13 (Griffin) which will not have any measures or candidates on the ballot.

The Thurston County Canvassing Board will hold administrative hearings to consider 11 voter registration challenges beginning the week of July 10. Individual hearing times will be listed at ThurstonWAVotes.gov once they are scheduled.

Some precincts, though, don’t seem to have an easy to identify connection to any existing landmark. Take for example, the Broadway Precinct, located just north of Olympia’s city border on the westside near the Evergreen State College. At first glance, there is no “Broadway” out there.

The Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division mailed over 8,500 Primary Election ballots to military and overseas voters registered in the Thurston County. Ballot envelopes must be signed and dated by Election Day or received via email or fax by 8 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Election Night, August 1, 2023.

The Thurston County Auditor’s Office is aware of a new effort of door-to-door canvassing by a voter research project. These canvasses are not associated with the Thurston County Auditor’s Office. Reports indicate the canvassers are wearing name tags that say: "Voter Verification Project - Election Volunteer.” The Thurston County Auditor’s Office Elections division does not go door-to-door to gather voter information.
