Voting Rights Restoration
You are eligible to vote if you are not in total confinement for a felony conviction in Washington state.
Your right to vote is restored if you are no longer serving a sentence of total confinement in prison with the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) or currently incarcerated for a federal or out of state felony conviction. After your right to vote is restored, you may re-register to vote.
When is my right to vote restored?
If you were convicted of a felony in a Washington State court, your right to vote is restored automatically once you are no longer serving a sentence of total confinement in prison.
If you were convicted of a felony in another state or in federal court, your right to vote is restored automatically as long as you are no longer serving a sentence of total confinement in prison. You do not lose the right to vote for a misdemeanor conviction or a conviction in juvenile court.
Only people in total confinement for a felony conviction are not eligible to vote.
