Building Development Center Hours of Operation
OLYMPIA – Beginning Monday, September 13, 2021, the Thurston County Building Development Center (BDC) will return to normal operational hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Thurston County Accepting Applications for Historic Preservation Grants
OLYMPIA – Historic preservation organizations in Thurston County have an opportunity to apply for grants of up to $5,000. The application period for the 2022 Thurston County Heritage Grant Program (HGP) begins today and ends Wednesday, September 22.

Thurston County Historic Commission Announces 2nd Annual Heritage Day
OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Historic Commission is pleased to announce Alex Gradwohl with the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation as the guest speaker for the 2nd Annual Thurston County Heritage Day, scheduled for Saturday, September 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be held virtually.

Long Lake Under Toxic Blue-Green Algae Advisory
OLYMPIA – Thurston County Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) is reporting a toxic algae bloom at Long Lake. Lab results show toxin levels of microcystin at the sample site are 17 ug/L. The state advisory level for microcystin is 8.0 ug/L.

Building Development Center Temporary Hours of Operation
OLYMPIA – Beginning Monday, August 30, the Thurston County Building and Development Center (BDC) is modifying operational hours due to unforeseen staffing circumstances. The BDC will operate under restricted hours for two weeks and expects to return to its regular operation hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm on Monday, September 13. Should the modified schedule need to be extended, the county will notify residents through the BDC website and Thurston County social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter).
