Toxic Algae Health Advisory in Effect for Deep Lake
OLYMPIA – Thurston County Public Health and Social Services is reporting a toxic algae bloom at Deep Lake. The state advisory level for Anatoxin, a neurotoxin, is 1.0 ug/L and the lab results show toxin levels of Anatoxin at the sample site at Deep Lake is 1.4 ug/L.

Planning Commission to Hold Public Hearing on Up Castle Land Use and Rezone Amendment
OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 6, at 7 p.m. to accept public comment on the Up Castle Land Use and Rezone Amendment, a citizen-requested amendment to the Thurston County Comprehensive Plan.

Building Development Center (BDC) to Close Early on September 23
OLYMPIA - The Thurston County Building Development Center (BDC) will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 23. The BDC will return to regular hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, September 24.

Board of Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Tumwater Joint Plan
OLYMPIA – The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing to receive public testimony on proposed updates to the Tumwater Joint Plan on Tuesday, September 28, at 3:00 p.m. in Building 1, Room 280 of the Thurston County Courthouse Complex, 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW in Olympia. A video conference option will be available in addition to in-person attendance.
