Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Forest Lands Conversion Update
The Thurston County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 3:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, to accept public comment on proposed changes to the Thurston County Code to update regulations for forest land conversion and standards for tree protection.

Two Influenza Related Deaths Reported in Thurston County
Thurston County Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) was notified of two influenza-related deaths in Thurston County residents. To date, there have been 31 influenza-related deaths reported by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) during the 2023-2024 influenza season, including one child.

Thurston County Board of County Commissioners Award Treatment Sales Tax Funds
On January 9, 2024, the Thurston County Board of County Commissioners approved $640,000 in Treatment Sales Tax (TST) funds over a two-year period for three community organizations to provide services in Thurston County. These awards will benefit Thurston County residents with mental health concerns or substance use disorders.
