If Your Home or Property Was Damaged During the Flood: Submit Your Initial Damage Assessment (IDA)
OLYMPIA – Thurston County Emergency Management (TCEM) is asking those in areas impacted by the recent flooding to submit their initial damage assessments (IDAs), as soon as possible online at https://www.thurstoncountywa.gov/em/Pages/default.aspx or by calling TCEM at 360-867-2800.

Grant Program Expands Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment Services
OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Treatment Sales Tax (TST) program is seeking proposals for funding for programs that benefit residents who face challenges related to mental health or substance use. A total of $800,000 is available to fund services during 2022 and 2023.

County Leads Strong Response to Assist Houseless Individuals During Cold Weather Event
On December 21, 2021 Thurston County declared a hazardous weather event for December 25, 2021 through January 1, 2022 due to the forecasted snow and frigid temperatures, as recommended by the Hazardous Weather Task Force (HWTF).

Thurston County Extends Hotel Stays for Displaced Campers
OLYMPIA – In response to 80 – 100 Deschutes Parkway camp residents being displaced by the City of Olympia on December 8, 2021, Thurston County provided funding to extend hotel stays for displaced campers for up to two months, or until exit strategies can be implemented.

Board of Commissioners Move to Virtual Meetings
OLYMPIA – Because of the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Thurston County due to the Omicron variant, in-person options for all Board of Commissioners, Board of Health, and Transportation Benefit Board meetings, work sessions, and public hearings will be removed, effective Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
