The Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division will conduct a random audit of the November 5 General Election. This test demonstrates the accuracy of the tabulation equipment. 

Considering recent arson at ballot drop boxes, we want to assure Thurston County voters that drop boxes remain the safest and most secure way to return your ballot.

During the first nine months of 2024, the Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division updated over 30,000 voter records for over 200,000 registered voters. 

Below are the voter registration deadlines for the November 5 General Election in Thurston County.

In Washington State, voters can register to vote or update their registration information in-person up to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, thanks to Same Day Registration. This system was introduced under SSB 6021, which was passed in 2018 and took effect in June 2019. It allows voters to register or update their address at a voting center or county elections office even on Election Day and receive a ballot the same day. This change gives voters more time and flexibility to ensure their information is up-to-date, making it easier to participate in Primary, Special, or General Elections.

The Thurston County Auditor's Office will hold a Passport Fair on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Thurston County Atrium Building. As the only provider of full-time passport services in the county, the Auditor's Office is dedicated to ensuring accessible passport services for community members.
